Hinduism : a cultural perspective

David R. Kinsley

An overview of the Hindu religious tradition, and a description of the essence of the Hindu vision of reality, this book deals both historically and analytically with the many faces of Hindu culture, art, mythology, ritual and social structure. The concepts of dharama (social duty) and moksha (release from the material and social world) are given equal emphasis, and the conflicts between them are examined.
