The "International Bibliography of Historical Sciences" is a general bibliography covering the whole field of historical sciences, supplying historians and librarians with details on recent publications worldwide in this area. This work is a selective and descriptive bibliography, and the works it compiles - both books and articles - are arranged according to a methodical and chronological scheme originally drawn up and established by the Bibliographical Commission of the International Committee of Historical Sciences. The bibliography is designed to be convenient to use, with titles arranged alphabetically within all sections and subsections, and using standardized abbreviations and symbols. Care has been taken to include significant new bibliographies and source works. The bibliography is supplemented by an index of authors and persons and a geographical index.
