Using a combination of verse, prose and illustration, the author conveys her feelings and conclusions about her decades-long journey of healing from mental disorder. Body Dismorphic Disorder can have wide-ranging life consequences which require diagnosis and treatment. For the author, coming to faith was a necessity but not sufficient for healing. Counselling and therapy were also required. The poetry employs the image of the olive tree and its grafts as inspiration; "I needed two bites at the olive".
