Nationality and citizenship have recently become a much-contested policy field in several European states. A team of 30 researchers have examined nationality laws and their implementation in the fifteen pre- 2004 member states of the European Union. This book presents the results of their efforts, using a new methodology that permits a detailed comparison of how nationality can be acquired or lost across all fifteen countries. This is the most comprehensive comparative study of the legal status of nationality to date and it will become an indispensable source of reference for further research.[-][-]Compares modes of acquisition and loss of nationality in 15 European states and analyses statistical data and administrative practices of naturalisation This title is available in the OAPEN Library - http://www.oapen.org.
